The Edinburgh International Festival (9th Aug. - 2nd Sept) presents a rich programme of classical music, theatre, opera and dance in six major theatres and concert halls and a number of smaller venues, in late summer each year.

Around a million people take to the streets of Notting Hill in West London for the Notting Hill Carnival - Europe's biggest carnival. Fabulous floats and colourfully costumed groups and bands make a circuit of the area, sound systems blast out loud music all day.
